Crooked Fingers and Exciting News

Hello, my lovelies!

I am – as surprising as it sounds – alive. It’s been a tough couple of months; and my updates have been scarce. It has a lot to do with a 40-hour week of working in a childacre centre (which I love! But which also turns me into a creative blob fish at the end of the day)…

…but more so with me having severe arthritis in the joints of my fingers, which has been flaring up recently like there’s no tomorrow. It prevents me from typing and drawing (sleeping and holding a tea mug as well, but that’s beside the point).

So I realised it’s time for some big changes. Fear not, not all of them are bad 🙂

Firstly, I decided to limit my writing, and regroup my pages/accounts/stories. If you’re one of my beloved loyal readers who’d been following me all over the net, you’ll see that some of my pages will be disappearing. It’s sad, but it needs to be done. Let me know if something that has been ‘killed off’ was exceptionally dear to your heart. There’s a chance it’s been moved, or will be reposted elsewhere. I’ll gladly answer any of your questions.

In the nearest future I’m planning to continue updating one story on Wattpad (currently it’s “Official Town Business”) and one story on (“Four Corners of Middle Earth”). I’ll be also posting whatever stories I have started and not finished, which have the potential of later becoming a novel, i.e. Blind Carnival here on the blog, on Wednesdays; and Ice, Ice Baby! on Wattpad (the sequel to my published book Hammer Up!). The latter will be titled Frost Over! on Wattpad.

In the more exciting news, starting next month I’m planning to hire an editor/formatter/publisher, and I’ll be turning ALL of my complete stories, e.g. “Due North,” “Jack in the Box,” and later “Frost Over!” (with the exception of purely fanfiction, which are actually pretty few) into Kindle books.

They will be available on Kindle Unlimited. If you have it, please stay tuned!

Lastly, I’m planning to turn my ORIGINAL Wren/Thorin fanfiction into independent fantasy/romance and post it on Kindle. I’ll be changing only what is definitely Tolkien-ish there; the plot and whatever details are purely mine will stay intact.

All and all, changes are coming! And it’ll be great! Stay tuned!

Love you all ardently,

  1. Dear Katya,
so sorry to hear about your recent flare up of arthritis. Really. 🙁
I hope you don’t think you have to please your readers by updating any of your unfinished stories.
It’s nice to hear you like your work in the childcare center. Isn’t it very fullfilling to do something you feel it’s the right thing to do for you? And if you change your mind, you can always do something else instead. The best writers are those who know about “real life” and have had many experiences (not sure about that, it is just my opinion :)) Whatever you’ll end up doing in your life, I wish you all the best.
    Love, A
