Hello!
Firstly, some news. For some personal and health reasons (mainly the lovely inherited arthritis I have nibbling at my fingers), I resigned from my job in the bakery, and am considering going back to teaching in September. Which means? Plenty of time for writing and drawing all through the Summer! (And growing veggies and flowers, but I also have a colony of bunnies in my yard, so no high hopes here.)
This leads us to piece of news numero duo. I’m starting regular updates of my pseudo-Viking, pseudo-Slavic webserial on my site Rodhina. The next chapter is almost ready, and more art is to appear soon. I’m planning to update the story every two weeks at least. Please, sign up for the newsletter here to be notified of any new stuff to check out.
Fanfiction writing will continue as before, and since Blind Carnival on Jukepop site is almost complete (the epilogue will be posted next Thursday), I’m considering starting a new romance/erotica webserial. The plans are so far vague. Dr T Series on this blog will continue, updated every Saturday just as before.
And now the big news!
The upcoming weekend, my dear friend Virginia McClain and yours truly are going to Keycon! I’ve never been to it, but I’m all hyped up! And we are ‘dealers,’ not visitors there! I’ve never been called a ‘dealer.’ That tickles my pickle!
Basically, it’s a fantasy and sci-fi fair, and we have a table, to sell stuff! Virginia brings her book (Properly worth checking out! And the sequel is in revision stage!), and I will bring my Rodhina prints and will be giving out leaflets to promote the site. Yay!
Which brings us to the request!
By Friday, when (hopefully, but honestly, very unlikely) a huge wave of new visitors will come to my site, it would sooooo great if it looked alive. So…
A. The new chapter and new art will be posted tomorrow (Those of you signed up to the newsletter will get an email, and those of you supporting me on Patreon will receive an exclusive scoop into some very exciting pieces I wrote to post later, such as *drums* Gosta appearing, and *gasp* Ani’s daughter!)
B. I would like to ask my readers to comment on the existing chapters and art, if you haven’t. At the moment the poor posts look rather lonely, and your efforts will hopefully encourage the newcomers to participate. C’mon, lets cheer for Einar (or Gosta, if you prefer Heughan over Fassbender… Oops, I meant, Priblizhnik Gosta over Glava Einar) 😀
Thank you, and see you next time (hopefully, tomorrow on Rodhina site, where you can get from the menu on the top of this blog)!
Cheers,
Katya
P.S. Here is a gratuitous doodle of Deadpool by yours truly 😉
I am sorry to learn that you have such trouble with your hands. Virtual hug!
Although I have to admit it sounds great that you might have more time to write for us… 🙂
The whole trouble with the arthritis is very unpleasant, sadly, but I just have to accept it, and work around it. And of course, a Summer of writing and drawing does sound quite tempting… 😉
Consider it done. I’ll comment away as i can over the week. *hugs*
I am pleased to hear that you will be doing more gardening and writing! Take care of your hands.
I will, and thank you! 🙂
Sorry to hear about your arthritis but also happy you will be writing more. Really enjoying your fanfiction “Saturday, Friday and Sunday” pieces and “Letters to Your Heart” … love your Dr. T series and loved Blind Carnival … can’t wait for “Better than One.” Also hope you review the “Thea Martin Guide.”
Thank you for your kind words! I’ve preened up 🙂 I especially appreciate that you are my multi-site reader 🙂 And yes, I’ll try to revive “Thea Martin’s Guide,” it was fun to write, I just had no time for it before.
Revive not review the “Thea Martin Guide”
My apologies for only thanking you here … Really enjoying “Dark Room,” “The Four Corners of Middle Earth,” and “Better One!” Looking forward to update of “Letters to Your Heart.” Really hoping for sequel to “Sunday Night Out.” Also, I have read and re-read your Dr. T series on Fanfiction, then was bummed when took it off but thrilled it’s here and back … love it! Love your style and witticism. Your crisp and fresh … As I’ve said have “Convince Me Winter Is Over” … so enjoy your writings. Thank you!
Oh my goodness, so many compliments! Thank you, thank you so much! Such messages are so uplifting and inspiring! And yay for like “Dark Room!” It’s so silly and light, isn’t it? 🙂 I love it to shreds myself. Perfect for my cheery Summer 🙂
And loved ending to “Blind Carnival.” I’m quite the fan of yours.
Awww thank you! It feels amazing to read such compliments! 🙂 To be honest, I’ve never expected such result when three and a half years ago I started drabbling 🙂
Hi, I’m the anonymous above (5/25, 6/22 & 6/23) … love your writing, your fresh spin on things … etc. Joined fanfiction and jukepop and stopped being anonymous.
Have a favor to ask — can you add AO3 to your links so we can access your stories from your blog as well. Love Fairy Wars!
Hello, EM delaRen!
Thank you for all your comments and all your support! And yes, that’s a great idea! This whole AO3 business is so exciting and so much fun that I completely forgot 😀 Here is the link in the side menu. Also, you can ‘bookmark’ a story in AO3 if you enjoy it, and you’ll get a notification when a new chapter is posted. Just like in FF. I posted Chapter 6, by the way. Hope, you have fun 🙂
Cheers,
Katya
Already read it!!! Enjoyed … and thanks for link!
